Why your profile matters as much as your resume
A resume is a document you send; your profile is what people find, check and act on. Recruiters search LinkedIn by keyword, hiring managers open your GitHub before an interview, and referrals — which convert far better than any cold application — flow through the network your profile makes visible. A strong profile does not replace skills; it makes your skills discoverable and credible. This center covers each surface with the same honesty as the rest of the Career OS: what actually works, what is theatre, and what to skip.

GitHub
What hiring managers actually open — pinned repos, README anatomy, commit hygiene — and when it does (and does not) matter
Portfolio
The portfolio that works for coders AND non-coders — designers, writers, analysts, marketers
Cold Outreach & Referrals

The honest hierarchy
For mass-recruiter hiring (TCS, Infosys and similar), your test score and eligibility decide almost everything — a polished profile is a minor plus. Profiles matter most for product/SDE roles, off-campus applications, referrals, and any field where you are found rather than filtered (design, content, data). Invest here in proportion to your target: essential for the product/off-campus route, a nice-to-have for the mass-tier test path. This center tells you which is which.
