New books this year — check your editions
Class 9 moved to the new NCF-2023 textbook generation for 2026-27. Ganita Manjari (Maths), Exploration (Science), Kaveri (English), Ganga (Hindi) and Sharda (Sanskrit) were released in April 2026 and are free on ncert.nic.in. The integrated Social Science book, Gateway to Social Science, was still in final development at NCERT’s 1 May 2026 announcement — follow your school’s guidance on which SST book to use until it is fully rolled out.

All released books are free at ncert.nic.in and on DIKSHA. Old-series Class 9 guides and solutions no longer match the new books.
The honest truth about Class 9
