Why Class 8 matters more than it looks

Class 9 does not re-teach Class 8 — it assumes it. Linear equations, exponents, light and sound, cell basics: the Class 9 and 10 board syllabus builds directly on these chapters. A strong Class 8 is the cheapest way to make the board years easier.

What a strong Class 8 year looks like

Concept-first maths: finish every Ganita Prakash chapter with the exercises done twice — once guided, once cold
Science by doing: follow the activities in Curiosity instead of memorising conclusions; that is how the new books are designed to be used
NMMS attempt: if eligible, sit the NMMS scholarship exam around November — the syllabus is your school syllabus, and the scholarship runs through Class 12
Daily practice habit: 10–15 focused minutes a day beats a weekend marathon; use the FirstGrade daily quiz to make it automatic
Language writing: one short piece of writing a week in English and Hindi — writing skill compounds slowly and cannot be crammed
