NEET UG 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Age, qualifying subjects, minimum marks, number of attempts and nationality rules — everything that decides whether you can appear and take admission.

Core eligibility

Qualifying exam: Passed or appearing in Class 12 (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects.
Minimum age: 17 years as of 31 December of the year of admission.
Upper age limit: No upper age limit to appear for NEET.
Number of attempts: No limit on the number of attempts.
Nationality: Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs and Foreign nationals are eligible.

Appearing vs admission

There is no minimum percentage to appear for NEET. The PCB-aggregate minimums above apply to be eligible for admission/counselling after you qualify.
